The fatty tissue undergoes modifications over the years, characterized fundamentally by a loss of it, especially at the level of the facial region. Despite being one of the oldest techniques in aesthetic medicine, it is still very useful and effective in the treatment and replacement of facial volume in patients with a great loss of fat in the face (cheekbones, cheeks, oval, etc.), also with a high degree of aging.

The method consists of extracting fat from a donor area of ​​the body where there is some fatty accumulation and implanting it in the required area of ​​the face. Everything is done with local anesthesia on an outpatient basis and small microcannulas that barely leave any signal. It is necessary to make at least two implants with a space between one and the other of between 3 or 4 months, the implanted fat will last for many years.

It should not be forgotten that apart from recovering the required volumes, the skin shows a significant improvement, since autologous fat (from oneself) contains a large amount of collagen, elastin, fibroblasts, and of course adipocyte cells.
Lipograft or lipofilling or autologous fat autotransplantation can be performed in other parts of the body that require it and always in special cases.
